Wildlife Safari Holidays in Nepal

Out of the total geographical area of Nepal, 16 percent of land is occupied by National parks, wildlife reserves and conservation areas. The tropical jungles of the Terai - southern Nepal preserve some of the best wildlife habitat in Asia. In the north, some fo the mountain range and Great Himalayan section on Tibetan Border National Parks and conservation areas perserve himalayan wildlifes.

Chitwan National Park:

Chitwan National park- The famous and first stablished National Park in Nepal located on Sourhtern slopes. The parek is a den forest area and riverine forest area. Offers the excellent opportunity to see Royal Bengal tigers, one horned Rhino, crocodile and thrilling wilderness experience into its dense forests. It covers an area of 937 square kilometers mostly famous for a fun ride on elephant to explore the whole jungle. The rivers and lakes are home to crocodiles and the extraordinary Gangetic dolphin. Chitwan is also a bird watchers delight with more than four hundred migrant and local species of birds. One can indulge in various activities in Chitwan such as Jungle walks, Canoe trip, Jeep drive, bird watching, Tharu village walks and enjoying folk music and cultural dance.

Bardia National Park:

The Bardia National park- Located in west Nepal low land. Is the largest and most undisturbed wilderness area in the terai which extends from the Churai hills southwards to gentle slopes of the 'Bhabhar'. It is home to Rhinoceros, wild elephant, tiger, swamp deer, balck duck, gharial crocodile, gigantic dolphin and lots of endangered birds as well.

When in Bardia National park one can indulge in various Jungle activities such as Crocodile breeding center, Jeep drive, Rafting on Karnali River, village tours and cultural programs.

Koshi Tappu Wildlife Reserve

Koshi Tappu Wildlife Reserve - wlocted on east part of Nepal was founded in 1976 to protect a small triangle of grassland and tappu in the floodplain of the Sapta Koshi River, the last habitat of the endangered wild water buffalo. The wildlife is mostly flocked with bird watchers in search of the beautiful Bengal florican and the flamboyant sarus cranes. More than 440 species of birds have been recorded including those that arrive from Siberia and Neplese homeland.
